Karolee Alexander, LCSWLicensed Clinical Social WorkerStep into a world of transformative therapy where compassion meets expertise! I am delighted to share that I completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Utah and have cherished over 21 years as a licensed professional in the field. Presently, I have the privilege of working alongside adolescents and adults in individual, family, and couples therapy sessions, as well as guiding various therapy groups.
My passion lies in providing support for those grappling with depressive and anxiety disorders, diverse forms of grief, and various personality challenges. Additionally, I specialize in aiding survivors of domestic violence, especially those who have endured physical, sexual, and emotional trauma. My experience also extends to assisting individuals dealing with developmental and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, often compounded by substance and behavioral addictions. Moreover, I have had the honor of working closely with military families across different contexts |
In my therapeutic practice, I draw from an array of methodologies including Cognitive Processing Training (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the Stage of Change model of Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Beyond my professional qualifications, I am certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor and hold a Certificate from the University of Utah Alcohol and Drug Program. I have also received specialized training in “Seeking Safety.” Throughout my career journey, I have been fortunate to contribute to several wonderful centers such as the House of Hope Mother and Children’s Substance Abuse Program, Center for Family Development, Department of Corrections, Davis Behavioral Health Substance Abuse, Odyssey House, and St. John’s Therapy.
On a more personal note, I am originally from the Oregon Coast where I spent my formative years and raised seven wonderful children. Today, I take immense joy in being the proud “Gramee” of 25 grandchildren, 7 great grandsons, and the anticipation of welcoming a great granddaughter. Outside of work, my heart finds solace in spending quality time with my family, nurturing my garden, cheering for baseball, exploring new destinations through travel, embracing the tranquility of camping, expressing creativity through decorating, and yes, I even indulged in the exhilarating adventure of skydiving once, an experience that left me utterly enchanted.
